Branch of Foreign Company in Dubai, UAE

A branch office is considered a representative of the foreign parent company. It is not to be considered a separate legal entity. So, it enters into contracts and concludes transactions in the name of the foreign company instead of a distinct entity. Since the branch is operating in mainland Dubai and not a free zone, it can freely carry out its activities with other companies in the UAE.

In mainland Dubai, a foreign company is granted a license by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce to carry out business dealings. It specifies the object(s) that the business can conduct. For a branch of foreign company in mainland Dubai, it is crucial to appoint a UAE national as a sponsor or agent of the company. He will be a dormant partner and will have no say in the operational aspects.
